My personal Dynaflight Chipmunk
I built the kit by the plan with two
modifications. I replaced the 1/4" plywood fire wall and the top bulkhead
former with a 3/8" birch firewall. This did two things. It allowed me to
mount the engine at the correct height and it spaced it out 1/8" which is
perfect for the Jag 720C&H.
The other mod is a cooling duct that I ran through the bottom bulk head and out the bottom of the fuce in front of the wing. My Stan's Fibertech cowl fit tight all the way around the fuce and I didn't want to cut any holes in it that weren't scale so I fabricated the cooling duct.
The engine installation is straight forward.
